- Worried about your child’s mental health? Start by doing this:
- “You are a terrible kid” (no explanation needed) – you must avoid this one
- “I’m so proud of you, you are amazing” instead use a full description: “I’m so proud of you, I saw how nice you were playing with your friends and sharing your toys”
- “Hurry up” instead say “we are late, let’s see who can get ready faster?!”
- “That’s nothing” – don’t ignore his/her emotions, instead use “you fell and got hurt? Do you want a kiss or a band-aid to make it feel better?
